Replacement 3/16" wool felt insert for the 6 x 6 catch pad — absorbs heat and molten lead drips during wiped lead joint and cable sheath repair work, and can be reused many times.
Dense wool felt slides into the pocket of the catch pad to soak up heat so the pad lasts longer. Used by power-utility and telecom cable splicers (cable jointers) for wiped lead joints on PILC (paper-insulated lead-covered) cable, lead sleeve splices, splash and pot wipes, lead sheath repair, and underground cable splicing — a ready-made, consistent alternative to a hand-folded moleskin wiping cloth.
