2.5 x 2.5 Curved Lead Wiping Pad for shaping and wiping molten lead on curved cable splices and wiped lead joints.

Made from heavy woven bed-ticking cotton, quadruple stitched into a firm pad that moves and molds hot lead smoothly around lead-covered cable sheath. Used by power-utility and telecom cable splicers (cable jointers) for wiped lead joints on PILC (paper-insulated lead-covered) cable, lead sleeve splices, splash and pot wipes, lead sheath repair, and underground cable splicing — a ready-made, consistent alternative to a hand-folded moleskin wiping cloth.
